We Are Different — We Are the One!


Look closely at the faces on this cover. These portraits were created by students of the International Inclusive Hub. They differ in their features, colours, expressions and moods. Each portrait has its own character, yet each has a place in the whole. No face is out of place, and no one is left outside the picture.

That is the heart of this work. Inclusion does not ask people to change who they are in order to fit into a world that was not designed with them in mind. It calls on us to recognise and remove the barriers built into systems, spaces and opportunities — so that every person can learn, develop their abilities, work and participate fully in society on an equal basis with others.

This vision underpins the FAO–NASP initiative to advance social inclusion and employment for persons with disabilities through accessible greenhouses. An accessible greenhouse is more than a physical structure. It makes equal opportunity tangible: a place where talent can be nurtured, knowledge can become practical skills, and skills can open pathways to decent work, independence and choice.

Inclusion is not about fitting people into a world built without them in mind. It is about building, together, a world in which everyone belongs from the very beginning.

The faces on this cover remind us that when every person has the opportunity to be themselves, to grow and to contribute, our many individual “I”s can come together as a stronger, more compassionate and deeply human “we.”
